Exists in the pastoral responsibility for the life and mission of the Church. It shares in the responsibility for the pastoral care of the Parish in collaboration with the Pastor and staff. While its members may be actively engaged in various ministries of the Parish, as a council it is a consultative body, which makes recommendation to the Pastor regarding the life and mission of the Parish community. With the Pastor and staff, the Parish Pastoral Council has a special obligation in the task of pastoral planning. It sets direction for the Parish by focusing on the Parish's mission statement and organizing a plan to carry out that mission. It plans, monitors progress, analyses and prioritizes needs and develops goals related to meeting those needs. The PPC may also establish committees to implement these goals.
